When The Earth Totters!

Reading:  Psalms 72 - 75
My Verse:  "At the set time that I appoint I will judge with equity.  When the earth totters, and all its inhabitants, it is I who keep steady its pillars. Selah" (Psalm 75:2,3).

How I need this reminder, LORD God!  It is You and You only Who holds this earth together!  Watching the news is a constant reminder of how very messed up we are!  Our earth is definitely in trouble.  There is no question that it is tottering!

How exciting and reassuring to be reminded that there is an appointed time when You will judge the earth's inhabitants!  And You will judge with equity!  Thank You for that!

It is so easy to wring ones hands and wonder why everything is such a mess?!!  It is too easy to think that perhaps You have forgotten us down here.  But, no, that is not so.  You have things in hand.  You love us so much and want everyone to come to You.  Because of that You will allow as much time as is possible to give everyone that chance to turn from their rebellious ways.

I love Ecclesiastes 3:1- 8.
"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven . . ."

I am also comforted to know that You have my time in Your loving and wise hands.  "My times are in Your hands" (Psalm 31:15).  This means that I do not need to fret about the timing of things in my life.  I need to simply and humbly look to You and trust that you love me more than I can ever understand.  You want only what is best in my life; I need to rest and trust in that.

All that You do You do that we may turn to You!  You are relentless in that pursuit of our souls!  Help me LORD God to not be selfish here!  There are still so many that need You.  Help me to be faithful in my walk with You that others may see You in me.  Help me to be faithful in prayer for those many that still need You.

Everyone knows how vitally important it is to have a good foundation for buildings and for basically how we live our lives.  I thank You for being the solid foundation that I stand on.  Though this earth totters morally, socially, physically and psychologically You will "keep steady its pillars."  On that I can rely!

"But God's firm foundation stands . . ." (2 Timothy 2:19).
