He Is Our Hope

Reading:  Exekiel 8 - 11
My Verse:  11:17 "Thus says the Lord God; I will gather you from the peoples, and assemble you out of the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give back to you the land of Israel."

It is hard to read about the "wicked abominations that they do..." v.8:10  My heart quails within me because these awful things continue to this day.  I don't understand, Lord, how You in all Your Holiness can stand to see our wicked hearts.  I know that man tries to convince himself that he is hidden when committing these abominable acts.  Even back then the elders tried to say - ". . . the Lord does not see us."  (9:9)  You do see us Lord - we are wide open to You!  "The Lord knows the thoughts of man, that they are vain." (Psalm 94:11)  "For the Lord knows and is fully acquainted with the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish." ( Psalm 1:6)

Thank you for the ever constant Hope.  For Your ever contant Love. Amidst all the wickedness and Your display of righteous wrath - You stop to reassure Israel with the promise of  "I will gather you..." (10:11)  "I will give them one heart and a new spirit within . . ." (v. 11:19)

You know that we cannot live without hope.

Ditat Deus - God Enriches!
