Reading Ezekiel 22 - 26
My Verse: 22:16 ". . . and you shall know (understand and realize) that I am the Lord."
Throughout this book that speaks of the dreadful consequences of sin - Lord, You constantly remind us that this is all done that we might know who You are! The 'consequences' or punishments are that we would turn back to You! Just like a parent punishing their child so that the child does not hurt themselves by doing wrong and dangerous things.
Another fascinating concept here is that You kept looking for someone to "stand in the gap before Me" (22:30) Sadly in that day You found no one. How I pray that we will be stong, bold, steadfast Christians to "stand in the Gap before You" - interceding for others.
Ephesians 6:18 tells us that we are to; "Pray at all times (on every occasion, in every season) in the Spirit, with all [manner of] prayer and entreaty. To that end keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perservance, interceding in behalf of all the saints."
Oh, Lord, to be such a Christian - standing in the Gap before You on behalf of my fellow believers!
Ditat Deus - God Enriches!
