Hear Or Refuse to Hear

Ezekiel 1 - 3
My Verse:  2:5  "And they, whether they will hear or refuse to hear - for they are a rebellious house - yet shall they know and realize that there has been a prophet among them."

It is kind of strange but in reading the writing of these great prophets I am filled with a sense of awe at the majesty of it all.  There is so much sadness and tragedy - but, always there is hope.  Lord, Your love and compassion comes through even amidst the sorrow.  You do not give up on us.  This is so encouraging to my heart.  I am encouraged to keep praying for loved ones. In fact it is my responsibility to keep praying and reaching out.

You told Ezekiel that the people needed to be warned, "If I say to the wicked, You shall surely die, and you do not give him warning or speak to warn the wicked to turn from his wicked way, to save his life, the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at your hand." (v.3:18)
In verse 20 and 21 you go on to say the same thing regarding backsliders.  "Again, if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and some gift or providence which I lay before him he perverts
into an occasion to sin and he commits iniquity, he shall die; because you have not given him warning, he shall die in his sin and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered, but his blood will I require at  your hand."

Lord, thank you for this amazing message that You send us through Ezekiel.    It is not my place to give up on anyone.  You told Ezekiel not to be afraid and that You would give him the words, "I will open your mouth and you shall say to the people, Thus says the Lord God; . . ." (v.3:27)
