Jeremiah 45 - 49 My Verse: 46:27 ". . . I will save you from afar . . . "
These chapters are an amazing account of God's omnipotence. The prophecies of the nations - their destruction and for some restoration, is an incredible illustration of You, My God. Makes me feel insignificant. Yet, You, Lord tell us often throughout Your word that we are of great import to You.
It makes no difference where we are physically in the world - You can save us. Even though the Israelites were being carried off to a foriegn land You promised them, "Fear not O Jacob My servant says the LORD, for I am with you." (46:28)
And so You promise us, "I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support. I will not in any degree leave you helpless nor forsake nor let you down!" (Hebrews 13:5) Lord, You are so wonderful to assure us in this way. You know how and when we need to hear those words.
I Peter 2:5 says, "Come and like living stones be yourselves built [into] a spiritual house, for a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable and pleasing to God through Jesus Christ." Lord, You call us to You. You tell us here that we are each a living stone, being fashioned for a specific role in the big picture. From this I understand that You call me and You deal with me as an idividual as You dealt with and continue to deal with the nations.
You, God are Lord of all the earth but You also attend to each human being - and call each of us to You.
Thank You for that.
Ditat Deus - God Enriches!
