Unrelenting Is Our Lord!

Reading:  Hebrews 4
My Verse:  "For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]: it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of  life (soul), and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.  And not a creature exists that is concealed from His sight, but all things are open and exposed, naked and defenseless to the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do" (4:12,13)

Oh, Lord God, You are relentless in Your love for us.  You pursue us.  You want us to belong to You.  All of scripture points to this.  Your ever constant plea echoes throughout Your Word, throughout all of time, throughout the lives of Your followers.  You plea with us.

"Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest"  (Matthew 11:28).

"Incline your ear and come to Me; hear, and your soul will revive; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercy promised to David"  (Isaiah 55:3).

We live furtive little lives here - thinking no one knows what we do, what we think.  But we are naked before You.  You see all. You know all.  Even yet You love us and want us. As the song says.  "Amazing love!  How can it be but that thy love was made for me!"

You are relentless!  Misty Edward's song is so simple but powerfully puts forth this attribute of You, Lord.  I love listening to it.

You won't relent until You have it all, my heart is Yours.

I set you as a seal upon my heart
as a seal upon my arm

For there is love that is as strong as death
     jealously  demanding as the grave

and many waters can not quench this love

Come be the fire inside of me
Come be the flame upon my heart
Come be the fire inside me until You and I are one.

You won't relent until You have it all, my heart is Yours.

Thank You, Lord, for relentlessly pursuing me - piercing through my confusion, my unbelief.  I do not even begin to understand why, I just know You did and continue to do so.  I can only love You back.

Ditat Deus - God Enriches!
