Reading: Psalm 70 - 77
My Verse: (73:16,17) "But when I considered how to understand this, it was too great an effort for me and too painful. Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then I understood [for I considered] their end."
It is so often this way. There are many things I do not understand - I struggle but am simply unable to make sense of the situation or event. Here David was questioning why it is that wealthy powerful people who are ungodly seem to flourish. It is only when we go to You - "into the sanctuary of God" that understanding and peace comes.
This understanding isn't always what I am expecting because it often does not include the 'whys' but I am realizing this is because I may not be capable of dealing with that much information. You in Your great wisdom and love only provide me with what I am able to handle - mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
I also realize that this does not mean I am to just sit back and let things flow over me - 'trusting' You to bring me through. NO, I am to actively pursue You. I am to actively seek You out - reading Your Word, studying Your Word, praying, seeking fellowship with others, attending worship services. I am to place myself before You daily and at every opportunity.
"You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to honor and glory." (73:24)
"But it is good for me to draw near to God." (73:28)
Yes, I must enter into Your sanctuary for understanding.
